As Jonah Goldberg writes in the National Review, "Obama has always had a bit of a vindictive streak when it comes to politics…President Obama and the Democrats deserve the lion's share of blame for not only prolonging it (for the government shutdown) but also making it as painful as possible…The National Park Service which has somehow become the unofficial goon squad of American liberalism, reversed course and let American World War II vets visit the WWII memorial in Washington D.C."

It actually costs the government MORE money to try to keep WWII vets out of an open-air memorial than to just let it be. But this is how liberals typically make their point--they want to inflict as much pain as possible on the American people.

Maybe you saw the news story of American tourists who had traveled to Omaha Beach in Normandy, France to pay their respects to friends and loved ones who are among the 9,387 military dead at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. Here's what is despicable about

all this: We can find the money to send workers to these memorials to keep people out, even under threat of arrest, but we can't come up with the dough to keep these most hallowed memorials open. And these are OPEN-AIR memorials which require little or no upkeep. What kind of supervision do you need over the visitors who want to visit the memorial graves at Normandy?

But this is typical of this White House which loves to inflict pain on the American people. Remember, this is the same White House which still finds the money for travel, vacations, and White House concerts but trying to make a statement about the seriousness of the sequester, they closed down White House tours.

The President and the Democrats are blaming the Republicans for holding America hostage. But it's really the President who refuses to negotiate with the Republicans, who is truly enjoying this government shutdown. This is having zero effect on his golf game. But to the dismay of those tourists who have planned for months to visit the memorials of loved ones who gave their lives in the fight for our freedom and liberty, this is no game, it's another example of a President who takes delight in bringing pain and disappointment to the American people, even on foreign soil.

As they like to say here in the south before they "diss" you, "Bless his sweet little heart, President Obama is so phony." At a recent press conference, he was answering a reporter's question about Fox News reporter, Jame Rosen's emails and phone records subpoenaed by the DOJ on trumped-up charges of espionage.

President Obama, always wanting to have it both ways, always wanting to be on both sides of the issue so as to appear reasonable and above the fray, tells the assembled journalists that he's for freedom of the press, but he also WON'T STOP his own Justice Dept. from investigating Fox reporter James Rosen on charges of consorting with the enemy.

Then, in an effort to placate the press and show how magnanimous he is, President Obama tosses them a bone and says he's proposing a MEDIA SHIELD LAW that would protect journalists from having their emails and phone records subpoenaed by the DOJ or any government agency.

In case you've been living in a cave for the past month, the Dept. of Justice headed up by Eric Holder shopped phony, trumped up charges to 3 different judges before they found one stupid enough or ideological enough to sign a court order allowing them to seize Fox reporter James Rosen's emails & phone records. They told the judge that Rosen was a flight risk and that he was a criminal co-conspirator engaging in possible espionage against his own country! How's that for serious charges?

Of course, you know it would have to be a Fox News reporter. Obama and Holder wouldn't go after any reporter of the NY Times, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC--because they're ALL in the tank for the Obama administration. In fact, the mainstream media are nothing more than stenographers for Obama. They report whatever the Obama administration wants. That's why they all have the same talking points, using the same words, because they're ALL reading it from the same White House script.

Jump forward to today, June 6. As of today, we learn that Attorney General, Eric Holder, told reporters this past Tuesday in a "candid", closed meeting, that James Rosen wasn't aiding the enemy--he was just reporting the news. So which is it? If he was just reporting the news, then why were his phone & emails sought by the Dept. of Justice with phony, trumped up charges?

Back to Obama's suggestion that we need have a Media Shield Law to protect journalists from evil men like Eric Holder, who BTW, is only doing Obama's bidding. And Obama says he's proposing that just such a law like a Media Shield Law be enacted by Congress.

I have a news flash for our President who is supposed to be a constitutional scholar (of course we'll never know since his academic records are sealed and we don't even know if he ever attended one day of classes or graduated from any school including Harvard) regarding the Media Shield Law--We already have it and it's called the FIRST AMENDMENT.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Here I am on vacation at Ft. Morgan Beach (a narrow peninsula) on the Gulf, and even though I’ve scanned the Wall Street Journal daily, I've tried to abstain from posting this week. This was supposed to be a get away from the daily grind.

For the most part, I’ve succeed with time in the water, sitting on the beach reading my Nook, eating loads of shrimp while enjoying my own personal air show courtesy of the Navy’s Blue Angels. On their daily flyovers from Pensacola, FL., they engage in incredible maneuvers, heading straight up into the clouds then descending like a bullet to within a few hundred feet from the ocean, followed up by flying upside down with an afterburner trail of smoke. These guys are amazing! Even the Navy for all its political-correctness has not yet succeeded in emasculating the Blue Angels and our Top Gun pilots.

Unfortunately, my vacation was interrupted last night by news that President Obama was “resetting the war on terror.” Duh?? What’s that mean??

What grabbed my attention was his babbling statement: 'This War, Like All Wars, Must End'." What tripe! This is RICH, coming from the very man who has been so busy demonizing fat cat bankers, millionaires and billionaires when he should have been targeting Islamic terrorists. Instead for the past five years, Obama’s target has been successful Americans.

"all wars must end..." Well bozo, this one isn't over, as illustrated by the killings of military, more than 10, the same day of his babbling. The idea that Obama will cozy up to the Muslims by closing Guantanamo and sending a hundred or so back to Yemen (so they can fight again) is crazy because at no time in history has a nation released its prisoners until a war came to an end and a treaty was signed.

From my knowledge of history, a war NEVER truly comes to an end until one side (your enemy) is defeated. In other words, WWII did NOT come to an end until Germany and Japan were defeated.

Where would we be today if Germany and Japan had not been conquered and brought to their knees? This is why it’s so foolish to expect a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians to really work. It's not worth the paper it's written on. No peace treaty will succeed until one of them is defeated and humbly brought to the table to sign a treaty as a defeated foe (and that would be the Palestinians). On a similar note, Jesus does not come back to earth to reign and rule until the great Battle of Armageddon where all the nations that attempt to destroy Israel are defeated. He also does not create a new heaven and a new earth until Satan is defeated and sent packing to the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20). 

I have a news flash for Pres. Obama—Al Qaeda is growing and expanding its outreach worldwide, including Al-Shabaab in Somalia, Sudan, Kenya as well as Boko Haram and Ansaru in northern Nigeria who have received training from Al Qaeda. Al-Qaeda is making inroads in Latin America in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. We also have the fast-growing Jemaah Islamiyah terror group in Indonesia.

The war on radical Islam (and re-read my past posts—most of Islam IS RADICAL) will not be won until it is defeated. Unfortunately, we currently have a president who won’t even use the term “Islamic terrorist.” He is still fighting a battle against America’s greatest enemy: Rich, successful, white, conservative Christians. Oh and the other big enemy (worse than any Islam terrorist) is one that Obama would target with a drone strike if he thought he could get away with it. That enemy? Rush Limbaugh.

Obamageddon arrives this Friday, March 1

In case you haven't heard, Armageddon arrives early this year, on Friday, March 1, when the Sequester kicks in. The President is out campaigning trying to paint this as a crisis of epic proportions, and his willing accomplices in the media are helping him spread the message of "doom and gloom." These catastrophic cuts will mean that people will be dying in the street, children will go hungry and we will be forced to buy rancid meat at the market, and there will be intolerable suffering--or at least that's what the President and the media want us to believe. 

Here's how Liberals play this game of cuts. As Jonah Goldberg points out in his column, if an agency has a billion-dollar budget, and someone proposes cutting a dollar from their increase in funding, that dollar will be earmarked for the screw needed to keep a bridge from collapsing on a grade school's Thanksgiving parade. You see this played out in public schools all the time. If there is any decrease in funding, instead of cutting some unnecessary program that will affect very few students, the first cut they make is to the athletic program--no more sports, and no more after-school programs. 

By the way, this sequester was Pres. Obama's idea, and Gloria Borger (TIME Mag., CNN) said last weekend on CNN's Newsroom with Wolf Blitzer that this was a manufactured crisis, manufactured by Obama himself. No kidding, she actually told us the truth and actually said that this was Pres. Obama's manufactured crisis--his own doing.

Here are just a few of the cataclysmic consequences, assembled by ABC News, that we will suffer if the Sequester goes into effect:

• Air travel disruption
• Longer security lines
• Greater risk of wildfires
• A nationwide shortage of meat and poultry
• 175,000 would be at risk for homelessness
• Longer waits for disability payments
• The nation will be at greater risk for terrorism. Less surveillance
• One-third cutback in the Pacific naval fleet
• The FBI would have to use broken equipment.
• No maintenance for some ships and airplanes
• Fewer OSHA inspections. Greater risk of injuries and deaths.
• Less nuclear waste cleanup
• Greater risk of suicides
• No matinees at the movie theaters during the week.
• Schools will have to cut 2-hours from their school day.
• You guessed it--no more school sports programs.
• Garbage will only be picked up once every other week.
• There will be 2 fewer hours in the day, and fewer days of summer.
• More cloud cover and greater chance for solar blackout.
• More electrical blackouts
• No toilet use during the afternoon hours from 1-4 pm.

All of this because the Sequester will cut barely 2% of the federal budget. Have you ever had to cut 2% from your budget? Families and businesses do it all the time. It's a fact of life. But with the government, it turns into Armageddon, or the Day After. The fact is: President Obama doesn't want to cut a single dime. Instead he wants more taxes and MORE spending, and guess who will pay for it? Your kids, your grand-kids and your great grand-kids. They will be stuck holding the tab for all the debt and wasteful spending that Obama and the Democrats (along with help from many Republicans) have saddled on future generations. 

Do Pres. Obama and the Left really believe in the 2nd Amendment?

It's a rarity when a politician will actually tell the truth, and that moment of unvarnished candor came a few days ago when Senator Marco Rubio was interviewed on Bill O'Reilly's Spin Factor. Marco Rubio said that President Obama "doesn't have the guts to admit that he doesn't believe in the 2nd Amendment. What we never get from the Left is an honest debate."

Here was a moment of truth-telling such as we seldom hear.The Left will tell you they believe in the 2nd Amendment, but that if they can, they would find a way to confiscate all guns.The Left will never honestly state their positions because they know that they are so unpopular with the American public.

Rubio went on to say, "....It was this horrible terrible tragedy in Connecticut, which by the way, all of us were outraged by, all of us were sad about, and all of us would want to never see that happen again. And by the admission of the White House, what they proposed would do nothing to have prevented what happened in Connecticut, or Colorado before that, or any of those other places where this occurred. The issue America faces is not guns; it's violence. I think the fundamental question is, 'What is happening in our culture and in our society that's leading to people committing these atrocities, whether it's mental illness or some other violent propensities that have come into our culture and into our society."

If the problem is mental illness, what can we do to stop it? What obstacles are in the way of dealing with the mentally ill? The mentally ill have been given rights which protect them from us, but don't protect us from then. We can't protect them from themselves.

D.J. Jaffe of Mental Illness Policy Org. states  that the Federal Government could make a real difference by stopping the closure of public hospital psychiatric beds and making it easier to compel treatment. Our current standard requires violence in order to get care to someone who is too irrational to realize that he needs it.

Nothing in President Obama's proposals addresses the issue of mental illness and how to get them into treatment facilities, even long-term care so they do not pose a danger to themselves, their family members, or the rest of society.

Marco Rubio told Bill O'Reilly, "He (Obama) sees this as an opportunity to get some of these things done that he's wanted to do his entire political career. He's going to utilize every rhetorical device to get to that point. I actually think the President doesn't have the guts to admit it, that he is not a believer in the 2nd Amendment."

All Obama & Co. have given us are failed policies and failed laws regarding the mentally ill. Going after law-abiding gun-owners does not address the problem and instead, attacks the Constitution, freedom and liberty.

We don't know if Adam Lanza (the Newtown shooter) was mentally ill, or if a better system would've helped him. But we do know that somewhere there is another young male who is angry and violent, showing signs of mental illness and looking for the opportunity to get the world's attention  and his 15-minutes of fame from the news media through another mass shooting. We don't know what the venue will be, whether it's a shopping mall, a school, a movie theater, but it will happen. It's only a matter of time.

The President and his Media Lapdogs' Use of Illogical Fallacies

The NRA (National Rifle Association) released a new video on Tuesday calling President Obama an "elitist hypocrite" for having Secret Service protection for his daughters at school but saying he was "skeptical" about installing armed guards in all schools.

Why are the President's daughters deserving of more protection than your kids or the children at Sandy Hook school? Why does the President need so much protection when he refuses to allow you to have any protection for your family?

The great hypocrite himself today at the White House, using children as a human shield, signed 23 executive orders which bypass Congress and effectively shred the Constitution. About the same time, the White House released letters from little kids pleading for gun control. Do any of you reading this actually think these kids came up with the idea of writing the White House on their very own, or was it prompted, maybe even coerced by their teachers who probably gave them a form letter to copy. So once again, we have school teachers using our kids to further their political agenda.

Where was the debate? Seriously, where was the debate in Congress over the issue of gun-control? Why is no one talking about mental illness? All of the recent shootings including Columbine were done by individuals with varying degrees of mental illness. The President doesn't want any debate. He just wants to bypass Congress and the Constitution. He could care less about the will of the people. In fact, he and his liberal allies in the media are painting the NRA as a greater threat to your security than Islamic terrorists.

A fallacy is a false belief or misconception based on faulty reasoning. Illogical fallacies are those which are false and based on faulty assumptions or logic.

Michelle Malkin notes that debate has degenerated into a Sesame Street sing-along. Here are some of the fallacies that she's discovered from our daily media barrage:

• argumentum ad populum. It's popular, therefore it's true. This argument is used a lot for global warming, and now being used for gun-control. 
• argumentum ad nauseam. If you repeat it often enough, it becomes the truth. This was used by Hitler concerning the Jews. He continually told the German people that the Jews were lazy and would bastardize the human race. Hitler said the Jews were taking over the country and were responsible for Germany losing WWI. This same argument is used today about global warming. 
• argumentum ad hominem. Sabotage the person; sabotage the truth. This is often used against individuals like Rush Limbaugh or any popular conservative. This was a favorite of the President's hero, Saul Alinsky--you attack your enemy and demonize him so that people will no longer listen to what he has to say. 
• argumentum ad verecundiam. If your favorite authority such as Chris Matthews, MSNBC or CNN says it's true, then it's true. No questions asked. No further research needed. If the NY Times says that we need gun-control, then we need gun-control. End of story! Everyone knows that liberals take the NY Times as their final word on any subject!

And now we can add:

• argumentum ad filium. If politicians appeal to children, then it must be good and true.

Why Pres. Obama Is Like a Box of Chocolates...

You can't make this stuff up. As Forrest Gump would say, "Life is like a box of chocolates--you never know what you'll get." For the first time in U.S. history, we have a real live Forrest Gump living in the White House. We never know what he's going to say next. Here's what we got from Forrest Obama Gump last week at a campaign stop in Miami:

"'The American people aren't stupid," thundered President Obama as he ridiculed Republicans who are blaming him for rising gasoline prices. Let's hope he's right, because not even Forrest Gump could believe the logic of what Mr. Obama is trying to sell. He went on to say: 

“We’re making new investments in the development of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel that’s actually made from a plant-like substance, algae — you’ve got a bunch of algae out here,” Obama said at the University of Miami. “If we can figure out how to make energy out of that, we’ll be doing alright. Believe it or not, we could replace up to 17 percent of the oil we import for transportation with this fuel that we can grow right here in  America.”

So let me get this straight. The President mocks drilling for oil and says that all this talk about drilling for oil is no "silver bullet." He goes on to say that the stupid Republicans have been calling for more oil drilling and exploration for the past 30 yrs. Unfortunately, the Democrats have vetoed every bill and every effort to open up public lands for oil drilling, or even for the construction of new refineries (which is another reason for the uptick in the price of gas--no new oil refineries have been constructed here in the U.S. in the last 30 yrs!). We would be energy independent right now with gas prices well below $2.00 a gallon if we had been drilling for oil these past 30 yrs!! 

But Forrest Obama Gump, the smartest man to ever occupy the Oval Office (or that's what the media would have us believe) says THE SOLUTION to our energy problem is pond scum (algae). If this new technology is so good and so proven, will President Obama sink his OWN money into it? Will Joe Biden and his energy czar Steven Chu invest their millions to help fund algae fuel? I don't think so. 

Just like Solyndra, the President is going to sink billions of our tax dollars into this new, unproven, experimental biofuels research (which he says he really believes in, but not enough to invest his OWN money). Forrest Obama Gump pours billions of your tax dollars into start-up companies like Solyndra and before they go belly-up or file for bankruptcy, their CEOs and Board of Directors give back millions of dollars in campaign donations to Obama and the Democrat   Party. Once upon a time, the FBI called this "money laundering." But I guess it's ok if you're Pres. Obama and the Democrat Party. This corruption is practiced by what we were told was going to be the "most transparent" and most ethical administration in U.S. history. 

For those who are inclined to vote for Obama this coming November, here's a word of wisdom for you from Forrest Gump: "Stupid is as stupid does."

How to save money at the gas pump!!

I can't believe how stupid I've been. If you're reading this, I owe you an apology. All along, I've been attempting to make the case for increased increased oil drilling both on our interior lands as well as offshore.

I've not been alone in this conspiracy because even the other night in the Arizona debate, I heard Newt Gingrinch echo the same thing. Idiot. He says that if we would go all out in drilling for oil and gas here in the U.S., we could easily bring the price of gas down to $2.50 in no time. Idiot.

What Newt doesn't know, and what I didn't know (I'm an idiot too) is that there is a simple way to put more money in your pocket every time you go to the pump. With gas prices now soaring at an average of $3.65 nationally and over $4.00 in California, I'm sure you're looking for any way to bring down the price at the gas pump.

Here's a little known secret which our President shared with us in 2008; somehow, it got overlooked and we've all suffered because of it. Then, candidate Obama said in response to a question about drilling for oil to meet our energy needs:  “We could save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling, if everybody was just inflating their tires and getting regular tune-ups."

There you have it! Why didn't I think of that? So go out and get yourself a tire gauge and make an appointment for that long overdue tune-up and look for increased savings in your pocket every time you fill-up your tank! I love this President. He's always looking out for you and me, even at the gas pump!!

Disbelief: "You wanna run that by me again?"

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:7 “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” What does it mean to “believe all things”? I think that in context, it means that love sees the best in others or gives the other person the benefit of the doubt, choosing to believe the best about them not the worst! 

However, the Apostle Paul is not saying that love is gullible and believes everything and does not exercise qualities such as wisdom and discernment. What he is saying is that love will believe well of others unless convinced otherwise. It seeks to put the best possible construction on another's words, actions, etc.

At the risk of sounding “uncharitable,” here is a list of things (or people) I don’t believe:

• Evolution. (Where’s the missing link?)
• Global Warming (I know that experts like Al Gore, Brad Pitt & Britany Spears will disagree with me, but there are several thousand scientists who haven’t drunk the Kool-Aid, and they are not following the money).
• Attorney General Eric Holder. (I never believe him when he is testifying before Congress, and I don’t believe he is concerned about justice for ALL Americans. In fact, he’s evidence enough for eliminating the Justice Dept. which is an oxymoron.)
• Pres. Obama. (He said he won’t rest until every American has a job--Except for his weekly golf. And all vacations. And trips to the burger joint with Joe. And campaign stops and TV interviews.)
• Ministers at conferences when they tell you how many are attending their church or how many were saved at some rally. They always inflate the numbers (This is referred to as “evangelistically-speaking”). This same thing happens when denominations list their overall numbers for worldwide growth, conversions, baptisms, etc. Inflated numbers every time.
• The published numbers for poor people in America (We are told that 1 in 6 Americans is fighting hunger). We have redefined poor. They  have 2 flat-screen TVs, own one or more cars, eat out at McDonalds, have an Xbox system, Sony Playstation 3, etc. Do I really believe there are poor people in America. Yes, but not the high numbers published in news stories by advocates (who make their living by inflating the numbers). A better understanding of real poverty is a visit to India or Ethiopia, Africa.
• Politicians when they say they want to “help you.” It’s usually the other way around, they want to “help themselves” at our expense,
• Affirmative action. Instead of taking race into consideration when one is considered for a job or entrance to a university, we need to look for the one who is best qualified, be they male, female, black, white, Indian, Asian, etc. AA leads to preferential hiring and reverse discrimination.
• Political Correctness. This is a tyranny against the freedom of speech so that no one is ever offended. This is an attempt to limit our thoughts, words and actions.

Here’s what I DO believe:

• The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Bible. He created this earth, all that is seen and unseen. He created man to have dominion over this earth.
• Yeshua (Jesus Christ). He is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Chosen One. He is the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega. Apart from Him, nothing was made that has been made. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and no man comes to the Father except by Him. He is full of righteousness, grace and mercy.
• The Bible is God’s revealed word to us. We need to devour it. The Bible contains the words of life itself. God’s Word of instruction gives us understanding, wisdom, hope, strength, direction, happiness, integrity, and ultimately leads us to eternal life.
• Israel. God chose Israel to be His people and His land. His steadfast love toward Israel and its people endures forever. He has given Israel to His people the Jews, who have descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Because of His great love toward His people, the Jews, He brought them out of Egypt, through the Red Sea, to the land we now call Israel and gave them this land (their Promised Land) as an inheritance to them. God calls Himself the God of Israel, the Holy One of Israel.
• In God’s plan and purpose for my life this day. My life does have purpose. He is ordering my steps and leading me in the paths of righteousness and goodness for His name’s sake. Even when bad things happen, my Lord is still at work and He never drops the ball, never forgets about me, never stops loving me. He is worthy of my praise and my life.
• In the end, God wins.
