The Food Nazis are headed your way!

Get ready. Get some placards and pickets ready because we've got another injustice which needs able bodies to stand-up, make some noise and make a difference--kind of like "hope & change." We're talking about "Food Justice." That's right, food justice.

Google "food justice" and you'll get an idea that here is another movement of "whiners" percolating just beneath the surface.

I'm sure many of you reading this are ready to sign-up for the food justice movement. You probably lost sleep last night because you were worrying about the current food injustice that exists here in America.

What am I talking about? What is Tracie McMillan talking about in her book, "The American Way of Eating?" I won't link to her book because I would hope you have better things to do with your time. This is an author who has apparently hates capitalism. It oozes out her writings.

Food justice is about everybody in the U.S. at any place, being able to eat fresh, well-prepared food. Now, that means that if you have access to a Caesar salad and choose to eat a Big Mac, Ms. McMillan and the food Nazis will help you make the right choice by taxing the Big Mac or your Dairy Queen Blizzard. If you don't think this can happen, just look at the attack on cigarettes with a move on to even make it illegal to smoke in your own car or home. You see, whatever the group, be they smoke Nazis or food Nazis, they are not happy until they can control and regulate how you live your life.

If you don't believe me, just look at what the Food Nazis have done in public schools. In most schools, kids can't buy a Coke, or candy bar. Some schools in Chicago and North Carolina are not allowing kids to bring certain items in their school lunches. Many schools already ban anything made with peanut butter. How did we ever survive growing up eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? In many schools, students go through the lunch line and are told that they have to choose at least one healthy item like carrots or broccoli which invariably gets thrown in the trash.

This just in (5/31/12): NY Bans Over-sized sugary drinks (front page headline in USA Today). The proposed first-in-the-nation ban would impose a 16-ounce limit on the size of sweetened drinks sold at restaurants, movie theaters, sports venues and street carts. It would apply to bottled drinks as well as fountain sodas. (This is what I'm talking about.) The Food Nazis know better than you what you should eat & drink. So first, it's sugary sodas which area already banned from many public schools. Then it will be sugary snacks. Then Quarter-pounders, and KFC fried chicken. This is only the beginning. The Food Nazis will not be happy until you diet consists of tofu, salads and hummus. Don't get me wrong, I eat as much hummus as the next guy, and love salads. But it's my choice. I don't want it being forced down my throat by Michael Bloomberg in NYC or some other bureaucrat.

Food Justice is about making healthy food available in every corner of the U.S. including the inner city ghetto. But they won't stop there, they will want to change the menus at McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King & Taco Bell, as well as school menus. They will also propose additional taxes on junk food and sooner-or-later, you'll see food justice lawsuits, just as the environmental movement has made its advancements via lawsuits.

  • What would it take for all of us to eat healthy? But why stop there.
  • What would it take for all of us to have a new car?
  • What would it take for all of us to have 52" flat screen tvs along with a high-def DVR?
  • What would it take for all of us to have access to free birth control pills?
  • What would it take for all of us to have a summer home on the beach?
  • What would it take for all of us to air conditioning?
  • What would it take for all of us to have free prescriptions?
  • What would it take for all of us to have free childcare?
  • What would it take for all of us to have free tuition to the college or university of our choice?
  • What would it take for all of us to have free medical care? (Oh, we've already got it. Obamacare.)
If any of the above strike your fancy, then there is a movement just waiting for you to start.Who knows, like Tracie McMillan, you might get a book deal and find yourself as a guest being interviewed on MSNBC or CNN where they're always looking for the next new left-wing movement.

Romney's record at Bain Capital vs. Obama's record

The latest attack on Mitt Romney is his record at Bain Capital. Obama has labelled it "vulture capitalism." The DNC (Democratic National Committee) has launched a couple of ads attacking Bain Capital. Lanny Davis, a lawyer, Democratic consultant, and spokesperson for President Clinton said this about the ads attacking Bain Capital:
"There was a problem with the ad that I saw.  It was misleading because it omitted a number of important facts that the viewer should see.  Romney wasn't even there when that plant went down.  That plant was about to go bankrupt before Bain bought it, brought it back, and in fact created jobs, and then it went under, as the head of the union said, because of foreign imports.  So the ad is misleading because it omitted those facts, apart from the fact the person at Bain is currently an Obama bundler when that company went bankrupt.  It's not a good idea to mislead people."
Over 9 years Mitt Romney had 14 major successes, and 18 minor successes, in many different types of companies in the U.S.
These successes include:
·         Blooming Brands (Outback Steakhouse)
·         Carrabba’s Italian Grill;
·         Bonefish Grill; .
·         Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar
·         Del Monte Foods
·         Guinness
·         Staples, Inc. (taking it from one store to 2000)
·         Isotoner Gloves
·         Sealy Mattresses
·         Alliance Laundry Systems
·         Domino’s Pizza
·         Artisan Entertainment
·         Accuride
·         Sports Authority
·         Dade Behring (Diagnostic Medical Equipment)
·         AMC Entertainment
·         Brookstone
·         Burlington Coat Factory
·         Clear Channel Communications (Largest radio chain in U.S.)
·         Dunkin Donuts
·         Guitar Center
·         Hospital Corporation of America (HCA)
·         Toys “R” Us
·         Warner Music Group
·         Weather Channel

During Obama's past 3.5 yrs in office, his business successes include:

(I searched and searched and there aren't any. Everything Obama touches fails. More on this in the next post).

Miracles, Signs & Wonders: Do they really happen?

Sooner or later you and I are going to need a miracle in our lives. If you live in Africa, it's probably sooner rather than later.

In our western way of thinking, we often try to solve the world's problems with money. We seem to think that there is nothing that can't be solved or made better with a little infusion of cash. Remember the "cum-ba-ya" moment singing "We are the world" to raise money for Africa? And again, we did the same thing for Haiti? How's that working out? Where did all that money go? What do we have to show for it?

The fact is that often people need more than money. This really hit home while reading a Christianity Today cover story on Heidi Baker, a missionary in Mozambique. In the midst of dusty villages with no electricity or running water, Heidi lays hands on people who are destitute, prays for people who are deaf and they are healed. Not only that, but she claims that scores have risen from the dead, food has been multiplied and blind have received their sight.
Read it for yourself. In fact, I encourage you to stop what you're doing, click on the link and read this incredible, inspiring story about how God is using one couple to bring hope, healing and restoration to the nation of Mozambique. Read: "Miracles in Mozambique: How Mama Heidi Reaches the Abandoned."

Then, after you read about Heidi Baker, leave me some of your comments and thoughts. First off, do you believe this is really happening in Mozambique?
  • What can we learn from Heidi Baker?
  • What's she doing that we are not doing and need to be doing?
  • Why don't we see this happening here in the U.S.
  • What's your take away from the story? What changes do we (you and I) need to make to see God use us in this same way?
  • Does the thought of signs and wonders inspire you, scare you, make you uncomfortable? Why?
Would a miracle or healing make a difference in the lives of people you see every day?

Happy Birthday Israel! The World Hates You

This week Israel celebrates her 64th birthday as a nation. Some claim that Israel today is a Middle Eastern power that threatens its neighbors. Sadly, anti-Semitism is on the rise.

When I visited Israel in 2003, I was shocked to find a front-age story in the Jerusalem Post reporting the results of a poll of Europeans. They were asked which was the most dangerous nation in the world? Now, realize that the respondents could have mentioned North Korea, Iran, Iraq (at the tiem), Russia,  China or Syria, right? Which nation would you say is the most dangerous nation in the world? Well, the 60% of European polled said that ISRAEL is the most dangerous nation to world peace and security.

This week on Israel's 64th birthday, Israel has more enemies than friends. Even our President is no friend of Israel. And in the interest of bi-partisanship, George W. Bush and Condi Rice (Sec. of State) were no great friends of Israel. George and Condi along with Obama would carve up Jerusalem and give away the West Bank to the Palestinians.

In 2005, Israel gave up the Gaza strip and forcibly removed Jewish settlers. Israel made this gesture to the Palestinians to further the peace process but instead of peace, Gaza is now host to 10,000 rockets which can hit Tel Aviv. Hezbollah in Lebanon has 50,000 missiles aimed at Israel.

Whether in Lebanon, the West Bank or Gaza, Israel has acted in self-defense after suffering thousands of rocket and suicide attacks against their people. No other country has had a clearer justification for self-defense and yet, Israel is viewed by many as the aggressor.

Israel is the only Democratic state in the Middle East. It is a country where Arabs and women are prominent in every facet of society. In fact, recently, the Supreme Court panel of two women and an Arab convicted a former Israeli president of sexual offenses. Where else in the Middle East could that have occurred?

In 1967, Israel offered to exchange newly captured territories for peace treaties with Egypt and Syrian but the Arab states refused. Later, Israel evacuated the Sinai (an area 3.5 times the size of Israel) for peace with Egypt and it conceded land and water resources for peace with Jordan.

Twice in 2000 and 2008, Israel offered the Palestinians a state in Gaza and virtually all of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. In both cases, the Palestinians refused.

Happy Birthday Israel! My wish and prayers for you are that God will continue to keep you safe in a world where everyone hates you. My prayer is that you will come to know and trust in the Messiah Yeshua who is truly your only Savior, Shield and Defender. He is the Holy One of Israel.
Jeremiah 23:8 (ESV)
8 but ‘As the LORD lives who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”
Isaiah 14:1 (ESV)
1 For the LORD will have compassion on Jacob and will again choose Israel, and will set them in their own land, and sojourners will join them and will attach themselves to the house of Jacob.

Last week, we learned that young Mitt Romney was a homophobic bully...

Stop the presses! I'm sure by now you've read that Mitt Romney was a homophobic bully in high school. Last week, the Washington Post devoted 3 pages to an expose telling us that the teenage Mittster and friends ganged up on another presumed homosexual kid at his prestigious prep school. Mitt and his friends allegedly held the student down while shearing off his locks of blond hair.

However, one friend quoted in the article referred to this story as a "vicious hack job." Maxwell goes on to say, "I'm a Democrat, so I won't vote for him, but he'd probably make a pretty good president. He's very smart, very principled."

The family of the young man who was allegedly attacked by Mitt Romney has released a statement that the news story is factually INCORRECT and that their brother, John (now deceased) is being used for a political agenda. Hmmm....whose agenda would that be?

Romney has apologized even though he doesn't remember this incident and maybe for good reason. It may never have ever happened.

But, in the spirit of bi-partisanship and while the Washington Post is fired up and in the mood for investigative journalism, here are some questions which I would like to have the Washington Post or any other journalists research and provide us with some answers. Who knows, it may even make the evening news.
  • Why are Obama's college records at Columbia University SEALED?
  • Why are Obama's college records at Occidental College SEALED?
  • Why are Obama's college records at Harvard University SEALED?
  • Why are Obama's selective service records SEALED?
  • Why are Obama's medical records SEALED?
  • Why is Obama's Illinois state senate schedule SEALED?
  • Why are Obama's Illinois state senate records SEALED?
  • Why is Obama's law practice client list SEALED?
  • Why is Obama's birth certificate SEALED?
  • How did Obama qualify for foreign study aid as a college student?
  • Why is Obama's baptismal record SEALED?
  • Why doesn't the press ever dig up someone who knew Obama in high school and college?
  • Why doesn't the press interview former students of Obama?
Why do we know so much about Mitt Romney already and know so little about President Obama? Why is his life a CLOSED BOOK??

Just wondering?

Little Things eventually reach a tipping point

Little things matter. Little things can turn around the upcoming November election.
Little things pile up inside people's minds and eventually reach a tipping point.
Little things being forced down our throats eventually bring us to the point where voters in November are going to say, "enough is enough!"

What little things? I'm talking about "little things" like:

  • No longer being able to purchase an incandescent light bulb because of government mandate. Why should I be forced to buy an expensive light bulb which is less effective and even more dangerous in terms of disposal?
  • In Massachusetts, mandated by school officials: No more baked goods allowed in schools, and there is an effort to extend this ban to football games, weekend activities.
  • Gay brainwashing propaganda in our elementary, junior and senior high schools. It's currently taking place in elementary schools in NY, MA, and Los Angeles
  • Little things like seeing your electric bill go up because your local utility is forced to buy subsidized wind-generated power.
  • Little things like knowing that you're forced to put ethanol into your gas tank even though it's detrimental to the life of your engine, and then you hear that the EPA has MANDATED the percentage of Ethanol increase from 10% to 15%.
  • Little things like seeing your president stonewall the Keystone XL Pipeline time and time again, preventing the overnight creation of thousands of jobs.
  • Little things like hearing your President take all the credit for killing Osama Bin-Laden at the expense of the Navy Seals who did all the heavy lifting, and put their lives on the line. The President was dragged off the 6th hole of a golf course for a photo op of him watching the killing of Osama Bin-Laden.

  • The bias and lies of the media which insult our intelligence with their reporting and phony polls. Many Americans have had it with a media which never vetted Obama, never looked into his academic transcripts but will do an anal exam regarding Mitt Romney. Americans have had it with a media that is in the tank for one party and thinks that those who disagree with them are yahoos, hayseed hicks, bigots with their gun-racks, blue-collar idiots, gun-toting right-wing religious extremists. BTW, those are President Obama's words and thoughts as well.
  • Little things like being told when and where you can smoke (I don't smoke but I resent the fact that smokers are treated as 2nd class citizens yet our federal and state governments loving filling their coffers with tax money from cigarettes). The Anti-Smoking Nazis won't be satisfied until they can ban smoking in private homes and cars.
  • Little things like being told what you can and cannot eat. The Food Nazis are now mandating what food can and can't be brought by your child to public schools.
  • Little things like watching your President attack the Supreme Court and question their right to rule on Obamacare.
  • Little things like Nancy Pelosi saying regarding the Obamacare bill: "You'll know what's in it once we pass it."
  • Little things like statements from Sen. Max Baucus (MT) to a question as to whether he had read the 2409-page healthcare bill:
“I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the health care bill. You know why? It’s statutory language,” Baucus said. “We hire experts.”
  • Little things like seeing your president and his family take their 12th vacation of the year when you can't afford to even take one vacation.
  • Little things like hearing your president call-out private citizens as enemies. Little things like the President of the United States having an "enemies' list" which rightly served to bring down Nixon and will hopefully contribute to Obama's demise as well. When in the history of this nation has a sitting President seen fit to attack, shame and threaten      private citizens for contributing to an opponent's campaign? It's currently taking place in the White House by a President who is acting out everything he read in Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals."
  • Little things like hearing our President demonize fossil fuel and demonizing Big Oil which daily contributes to our well-being and our Amercan way of life.

  • Little things like being told that a snail, rat or spotted owl is more important than a human being or private property or the construction of a bridge or new homes.
  • Little things like hearing our President and the Democrats divide the people of this country along racial and gender lines.
  • Little things like watching our President attack job-creating corporations.
  • Little things like reading that a private company like Boeing Aircraft cannot re-locate their business to South Carolina without the President siding with his best buds and supporters: the unions, the Labor Dept. and then attacking Boeing. A sitting president attacking a private company and dictating where they can or cannot locate their business!!

10 Things that you won't hear any commencement speaker saying at this year's graduation ceremonies

It's May, flowers are in bloom and students are preparing for graduation exercises. In the next few weeks, you'll read about the who's who addressing graduating students at prestigious schools around the country. I suppose it's an honor to be invited to give the commencement address; unfortunately, I've never been asked to give one. Sad but true. However....if I were invited to bestow words of wisdom upon your son or daughter's graduation, here's what I would say.

Here's what they won't hear from any other celebrity commencement speaker this year: 10 things I would tell today's graduating students, if given the opportunity:

1. Congratulations. Because of your presence here today, it's the recognition that you've gained some knowledge but I would be remiss if I didn't take this occasion to remind you that true knowledge is to know God who is superior to us in every way. Knowing God is the key to knowing yourself and maintaining humility. God is great, Almighty and infinite and we aren't. The sooner we learn this, the wiser we will be.

Your true identity will not be found in a job or successful career. Your true identity won't be found in being successful, well-liked, or even relationships. Your true identity is not defined by what others say about you, or even by a church or religion--No, your true identity comes from the Lord and what He says about you, and He says that you are valuable and have great worth, just as you are because you were created in His image. Your identity is found in knowing God as your Heavenly Father and your relationship to Him as His son or daughter.
As the great mathematician & philosopher Pascal wrote in Pensees, “There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus
As you go through life, you will either attempt to fill this empty vacuum with success, wealth, recognition, awards, promotions, power, sex, drugs & alcohol--or you will fill it through a relationship with God. All your efforts to fill that emptiness with anything other than the real thing will fail miserably.

2. Life is not fair. Get used to it. And who decides what is "fair"? Is it the President or some government bureaucrat or someone in the IRS? What you think is fair may not be fair to me or others. BTW, not even God is fair. Check out one of my earlier posts on this subject.

3. Get a historical perspective. For many of you, your historical perspective goes back to the day you were born. But it will serve you well in life to expand upon your knowledge of history.  As George Santayana once said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." You can't remember or forget something you've never known. Get to know history and judge everything you read and hear today in light of the historical past.

You need to understand about the history of our country. Read the biographies of great men and women. Read about Washington, John Adams, Lincoln, Reagan, Truman, Margaret Thatcher and others. If you are not a reader, then do yourself a favor, get a Netflix subscription and watch following HBO miniseries: "Band of Brothers", "The Pacific", "Generation Kill" and especially "John Adams."

4. Not everything that is important can be communicated in 140 characters on Twitter. While brevity is important, you need to "man up" to the fact that much of what you need to know will be found in books that consist of way more than 140 characters. For example, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights can't be communicated in a Tweet.

5.  Learn to think critically. As Thomas Sowell has said, “The problem isn't that Johnny can't read. The problem isn't even that Johnny can't think. The problem is that Johnny doesn't know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling.” Learning how to think critically means learning to ask questions.

For example, you may have heard this stat which recently made headlines in USA Today and trumpeted by the media: "More than one in five children live in households that struggle to put food on the table." It was also played up as "More than one in five children in America go to bed hungry."

When you hear a statistic like this, do you ask, "who says so?" Where does this statistic come from? How was it compiled? How do we know that the findings are accurate? Does the group that is promoting these stats have something to gain? Does it further their agenda (like government funding, etc.)? Question: How can we have a dramatic increase of 45 million Americans who are now receiving food stamps while at the same time having more than 1 in 5 children who are hungry? Are they hungry because they choose not to eat or don't like what is on the menu or being served for dinner?

6. It's time to look for the exit doors and escape from what you've experienced as "Group Think." Now that you are graduating, it's time to grow up and realize that you can begin to think for yourself. Far too many of you have been pushed by peer-pressure Group-think, swayed by "coolness" and late-night TV comedians and the Hollywood crowd.

For some of you, your inability to think is due in large part to pre-K through 16 liberal indoctrination, and that's why some of you are ready to vote for Obama this November, even though he has done more to destroy your chance for getting a job and saddled you with a debt that you'll be paying off for the rest of your life. Up till now, you've been brainwashed by your government teachers, professors, media, etc. but now, you can declare you independence and begin to choose who does the brain washing. You can start to think for yourself and stop following the rest of the crowd just so you can be accepted as "cool."

7. When you get your first job, look at your paycheck and take note of how much of your pay is missing due to taxes. Are you paying your fair share? Do you want to pay more? You can always write a check to the IRS and pay more if you choose to, but not even Warren Buffet is dumb enough to do that.

Most people who want everyone else to pay MORE in taxes, don't want to pay their own fair share including our Sec. of the Treasury, Tim Geitner. If you don't like having all of your hard-earned money taken out in taxes, stop voting for Democrats!!

8. You are not immortal.    I remember standing in the Amherst, NH town cemetery and looking at the tombstone of someone who had died in the 1794. Here's the inscription on that tombstone: "Where you now stand, I once stood. Where I now lie, you shall soon shall be." What this guy was saying on his tombstone inscription was the fact that once he was young, maybe even graduated from Dartmouth College, married, became a father, had success in business, but he  grew old and died. He wanted me and everyone else who viewed his gravestone to know that we had the same future in store for us as well. No matter how often we go to the gym, or take vitamins, or eat healthy, we're going to join this fellow in the cemetery. So, just knowing that should cause each of us to make better decisions.
As Jim Elliot martyred on Jan. 8, 1956 by the Auca Indians in Ecuador wrote in his diary: "This one life will soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last."
 9. When you are meeting someone for lunch, whether it be a friend, relative or for business, leave your communication device in your car or at least turned off. You are showing disrespect for the other party and basically telling them where they rate on your scale of importance. If you can’t stay off the smartphone, then cancel the luncheon or dinner engagement.

10. The sooner you realize this, the better off you’ll be: Your college education is grossly overrated and oversold. The object of education is to increase intelligence, NOT simply graduate with a diploma. You need to realize that education never ends. Every day you should be trying to learn something new, reading books that will expand your understanding and your vocabulary. The greater your vocabulary, the better your chances for making a good impression especially during a job interview. They’ll think of you as highly educated, even if you aren’t.

The real world doesn't care as much about protecting your self-esteem as your school does. The real world expects you to actually accomplish something before you feel good about yourself. Be thankful if you have a boss or friend who is hard on you and won't let you take “shortcuts.” If you screw up, your boss is not going to ask you how you “feel” about it.

If you want to hear positive feedback, work hard so that you’ll deserve it. Be responsible. If you screw-up, forget about your hurt feelings—own your mistakes and endeavor to learn from them.

Now you know why I've not be asked to give the commencement address at any colleges or universities lately.

What's in a name? The Lifter Up of My Head

From time to time, I'll be doing posts on the names of God. Why? Because God has many names and the more names we know, the better we get to KNOW God. The whole purpose of this exercise is knowing more about God and learn how to use these names in our prayers, worship & praise.

THE LIFTER UP OF MY HEAD is found in Psalm 3:3
This title for God expresses a confidence in God.

CONFIDENCE:
We live in a day when much of what we hear around us is "I can't." "I can't quit smoking"; "I can't go on in this marriage"; "I can't keep doing this job"; "I can't control my temper"; "I can't stop drinking"--the list is long but you get the picture. Each of us is prone to saying "I can't" about something. But the Apostle Paul tells us how to break the "I can't" syndrome. He says in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Another version puts it, "I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me."

The Psalmist says the same thing when he puts it simply, "You lift my head high" (Message Bible, Ps. 3:3)
Another version says, "...my wonderful God gives me courage" (NCV, Ps. 3:3)

WHAT'S IN THIS NAME?
David was running for his life from his treacherous son, Absalom, who was out to kill him, and in the midst of this dire circumstance, David introduces us to the Lord as the "Lifter Up of My Head." In Psalm 3, he is declaring his confidence in the Lord's mighty power to deliver him. He's expressing his confidence that God has the situation under control and that He will protect and defend him.

The Psalm begins with, "Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me, "There is no help for him in God" (Psalm 3:1-2). But Psalm 3 ends with David's declaration of confidence in the Lord: "Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people" (Psalm 3:8).

In Psalm 3:3, we see the picture of Christ as the Lifter Up of My Head. He will not forget us when opposition arises. He will come to our defense, even though our current circumstances seem to point to failure or defeat or unbelief. David in Psalm 3:3 is exalting God in a confession of faith as the One who is able to restore whatever man or the Enemy has robbed or seized, whether it be a title, position, authority, place, person, health, etc.

PRAYING THIS NAME:
When praying the name of Jesus, the Lifter Up of My Head, I am placing my confidence in God. He knows all my weaknesses and He knows where I need to be encouraged and strengthened. The term "lift up" comes from the Hebrew word ruhm which means to raise up or build a house, to cause a plant to grow by watering it, to place someone in a safe place.

So by praying and putting my faith in Jesus as The Lifter Up of My Head, I am removing "can't" from my vocabulary. I am now trusting in God's strength to raise my children, do my job, accomplish those tasks that are before me today. I am looking to Him for to provide for me and protect me in all the circumstances that I face today.

As I pray to Jesus as The Lifter Up of My Head, I am looking to Him to raise me up from depression, fear, worry, temptation, defeat, etc. If you feel yourself being dragged down, almost like you are stuck in quicksand and your circumstances are about to consume you. In the midst of your helplessness, call out to God as The Lifter Up of Your Head. Trust in Him to deliver you and once again, set your feet upon solid ground, and bring stability, security and strength back into your life.

PRAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

Lord, you know my weaknesses and the struggle that I am currently going through. You know my foolish ways. Lord, at this moment, I am depressed, discouraged and weak because of the sin and failure in my life. So often, I lose confidence in your goodness and mercy. So often, I fail to see that You are for me and not against me. So often, I am trying to face my daily struggles in my own strength, and I end up defeated.

Lord, I thank you that You are the Lifter Up of My Head. You are the One who takes me in your arms and lifts me up from sinking in the quicksand of despair. You are the One who Lifts Up My Head this day so that  I have confidence and courage to face whatever comes my way. You are the One who encourages me and renews my strength. I know that with your help, I can do all things because You, my Lord, are the One who strengthens me. Thank-you that I am in a safe place this day because I am in You.

I face this day with You, my Lord as the Lifter Up of my head. You alone are my Hope, my Strength, my Shield and my Defender, my God in whom I will trust.

In the name of Jesus, the Lord God Almighty,
Amen.
