My takeoff on Clint Eastwood & the Empty Chair

By now, I'm sure you've either seen or heard about Clint Eastwood's memorable speech at the Republican convention where he used an empty chair as a prop for Obama. If you haven't seen the speech, you can view it at YouTube.

I got this idea from a Wall Street Journal reader who placed an empty folding chair next to his Romney-Ryan yard sign. Yesterday afternoon, I did the same thing. Here's what everyone who drives down my street now sees.....

I'm looking forward to the VP debate tonight. Since we no longer have satellite or cable, we'll watch it on either Hulu Plus or YouTube. After I publish this post, I'm packaging my 2 DVRs and taking them to Fed-Ex to ship back to DISH Network. I do this with a degree of sadness. I will miss my DVRs and the ability to pause and watch shows on time delay. But then again, we've embarked on this great experiment and that's the price we have pay. 

Enjoy your day, and if you pray, pray for righteousness and truth to prevail tonight. Pray for the American people to see and hear what's true and to have wisdom to discern between who's blowing smoke and who's displaying real honesty and character. 

Why Obama will lose the next debate.

There's been a lot of post-debate analysis as to why Obama lost his first debate against Romney. Al Gore blamed it on the altitude-that figures. The media was apoplectic and should have been placed on suicide watch because their esteemed leader, the annointed one they've propped up for the past four years, failed miserably. In effect, it's as though he didn't want to be there. He should've stayed home. Romney could have done just as well debating an empty chair.

But here is the real reason for Obama's lackluster performance: He's lazy--that L-A-Z-Y!! In a 2011 interview with Barbara Walters, he admitted to being lazy and blamed it on having grown up in Hawaii. In other words, if you're Hawaiian, you're probably lazy (according to President Obama). 

Here's my assessment: Obama has never had to work hard for anything. He's been handed everything. He is our first affirmative action president. He never had a menial job like working at McDonald's. He never even had a paper route (I can just imagine him delivering the morning paper at 4pm in the afternoon). 

Barry is used to being treated as "special" and being given every break in the book. My wife said, "Dale, he must have worked hard to pass the bar exam. You don't just become a lawyer without some hard work and passing the bar exam." My response to that: How do you know? His transcripts are sealed. All this brouhaha over Romney's tax records and we still haven't seen Obama's transcripts. Everything about his past life is "closed." Why is that? What's he hiding? We don't know if he even passed the bar exam because we can't even see his high school or college records. I really believe that he was most likely an average student, probably deserving mostly "C's" but most of his teachers and professors bumped those "C's" up to "B's or even A's." 

Obama is a "know-it-all" and he's even admitted to others that he knows more about policy than any of his staff. You can't tell him anything. He doesn't care to study hard, even for something like a debate. He doesn't even attend intelligence briefings because he figures he probably knows what he's going to be told before they even hold the briefing. He is all-knowing, and for that reason, he spent very little time in preparation for last week's debate. Obama figured that he already knew Romney's position on everything. In reality, all that Barry knew were the fabricated lies and distortions that he and his party had spun regarding Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney showed up with facts, figures and the truth. Mitt Romney looked presidential; Obama look small and trivial. 

I'm not alone in my assessment of Obama's laziness as a major factor in his dismal performance. Last Thursday, former New Hampshire Governor John Sununu appeared on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell (who's in the tank for Obama). She asked Sununu for his impression of Mitt Romney's performance at the previous night's debate. The conversation heated up quickly whcn Sununu opted instead to critique President Obama's performance, calling him "lazy" and "disengaged." 

Andrea Mitchell was taken aback by the criticism of her beloved President whom she has spent four years trying to "prop up" with her own brand of media bias. This seasoned journalist who is objective and non-partisan, immediately went on the defensive for Obama and asked Gov. Sununu if he wanted to apologize for that remark, but Sununu would not take the bait.

I'm sure Ms. Mitchell was shocked at this "hate-speech" coming from Sununu. Andrea Mitchell gasped and tried to give Sununu one more chance to atone for his hateful comments: "Governor, I want to give you a chance to maybe take it back. Did you really mean to call Barack Obama, the President of the United States, lazy?"

"Yes," Sununu replied without hesitation. "He didn't want to prepare for the debate. He's lazy and disengaged." (Do you think that Andrea Mitchell would've have been as concerned if these words had been said about Pres. Bush? Can you imagine her giving the attacker the opportunity to "take it back"--to apologize? I can't.)

Here's my prediction for the next presidential debate on Oct. 16:

At Hofstra University on Oct. 16, once again, Romney will prevail. Even though Obama and his team are insisting that he's going to bring his "A-Game:--it won't happen. Even though Obama is assuring his adoring crowds that it's going to be a street fight, don't bet on it. Barry is lost without his teleprompter and speech writers. He's a narcissist. He can't take in any new information, hence, he won't really study or prepare for the debate. Once again, Barry will fall back on the misinformation and fabricated lies about Romney that he's been spewing for the six months, and once again, he will be met with the facts and truth by a man who has truly accomplished something in his life. 

Obama has had almost four years in the oval office but he can't really talk about any of it because it's been a complete waste and total failure. He has no record to run on. Really, all Romney has to do at the next Town Hall meeting is ask the audience, "What has Obama done for you over the last four years? Is your future more secure? Is your home worth more? Has your retirement income grown substantially? Have your kids found good jobs or are they still living at home with you? Has your household income increased or decreased? Do you have more disposable income or is it being eaten away by the high cost of gasoline which has doubled under this President? "

At the next debate, once again, Obama will look small and trivial and Romney will look presidential. 

Renee and I step back into the dark ages. We embark on a grand experiment.

Saturday's the day! Some people think I'm insane and maybe they're right--I'm less than three days away from being cut-off from civilization. In less then three days, Renee and I enter the dark ages. Sometime Saturday, the two satellite dishes atop our roof will stop receiving any signals from the DISH HD satellites.

This Saturday, we pack up and send our 2 HD DVRs back to DISH Network.This is a big deal! Some think we've lost our mind, getting rid of television 4 wks.into the football season. No more NFL football on Sunday afternoons, or Sunday evenings, or Monday night football on ESPN. I could go on, but you get the idea. 

Three weeks into the fall television season, we will no longer receive Survivor, The Amazing Race, or Revolution. This is serious stuff. No longer can I miss the start of a game or a TV show and then start it from the beginning an hour later from the beginning, zapping commercials and watching a 3-hour game in 90-minutes.

Sadly, I will truly miss the Fox News Channel. My friend, Bart, gives me 2 weeks before I call up Dish network and beg them to put a rush on reconnecting my dishes. However, I think we'll be able to last a bit  longer than two weeks. This is an experiment. Can we survive this next year with no live TV service?

In the interest of full disclosure, I must tell you that we are still have the internet and we have subscriptions to Netflix and Hulu Plus.

Finally, I was raised on television and have nothing but fond memories of watching TV. I remember seeing Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. I remember when space launches were a big deal and we got up at 4am to watch the countdown.

We were the first on our street to have color television in the days when the only thing in color was the Flintstones, the Jetsons and Travelogues. In the early 80s, we were one of the first families to have stereo television when it was a big deal to watch and listen to Miami Vice in stereo. With the advent of DVRs, we were one of the first families in our area of New Hampshire to get a DVR, as well as going high definition. I say all this to let you know that I'm not a TV-hater. I don't watch Christian TV which could be the subject of one or more future posts. I like TV and have enjoyed it since I was a little kid. So, we'll see how this goes.

If nothing else, I know I'll have more time to read, study the Word, pray and get together with friends. Down the road, Renee and I may come to regret this decision or we may find it to be liberating. We'll see. Stay tuned as we embark on this grand experiment.

News Flash: The UN (United Nations of Thugs) Wants to Take-over the Internet

I don't know how to get in touch with Al Gore. If you know his address, even his email address, send it to me cause I would think he'd be extremely interested in what I've just learned. After all, he did invent the internet, and now it's about to be taken over by the U.N. (The United Nations "of thugs").

What does the UN want to do with the Internet?

• Right now, countries around the world are preparing their proposals for the upcoming World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT), which will take place in Dubai this December. During WCIT 2012, the 193 member states of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a United Nations agency, will decide whether to impose new regulations on the networks and economics of the Internet. Most of these nations are banana republics run by Marxist dictators who steal from their people and hate America (except they all LOVE Obama and want him re-elected). (Key words are IMPOSE NEW REGULATIONS and ECONOMICS --make you pay MORE).

Why are they so interested in control over the Internet?

Basically, these countries want MORE power over the internet.They had NOTHING to do with its creation. Zero. But they see it as a force for the expansion of western culture, ideas, as well as good old-fashioned capitalism, and they want to put curbs and restrictions on the Internet. They also have plans for charging you more money for your use of the internet. 

Who's against this proposal? Is everybody asleep?

• Who's against this proposal? Surprisingly, the US government and US-based businesses are by far the most vocal opponents. Also Members of Congress, the Obama administration, and a wide swath of the technology industry’s largest and most powerful companies, including Google, AT&T, Microsoft, Verizon, Cisco, and others.

• Why are they against it? The opposition’s concerns boil down to a few key points: freedom of speech, the stifling of innovation, and money.

• Giving the ITU control over the Internet means giving more control to governments, like China, Iran, Russian, which are notorious for greatly limiting the types of information available to their citizens online, and imposing censorship — especially of political speech — on their people.

What can you do? What should you do?

• Write your congressman and senator and tell them to get vocal and put a stop to this WCIT proposal. Tell them to cut the funding to the UN. This is the ONLY way to get the attention of these 3rd world dictators who hate America, free speech & capitalism. 

• Then, vote for Romney & Ryan in November because Romney would be our best hope for keeping the Internet in the hands of the U.S. and the West as well as standing up to these U.N. crooks who band together in their hatred of capitalism and dmocracy and the countries of democracy and innovation: The United States and Israel.

Obama wants to control your iPhone and the Internet. This is scary stuff!

Obama signs another executive order, giving his White House the control over your cellphone and the Internet.

On July 13 this summer, Pres. Obama signed another executive order to giving Sis Napolitano & the Dept. of Homeland Security control over your cell phone (wireless communications) and complete control over the Internet, in instances of emergency.

The mass media (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, NYTimes, etc.) as usual, totally ignored this story. Why? Maybe because they want to keep you in the dark as to how Obama is slowly preparing to take away more and more of your freedoms, including the use of cell phones and the internet.

This EXECUTIVE ORDER is unconstitutional. It was NEVER discussed or debated in Congress by our elected representatives. This should have been a decision made by Congress. In that sense, I also fault John Boehner (Speaker of the House) and Harry Reid (Senate leader) for not challenging this executive order, and the further usurping of their powers by this president.

This comes from the same man who on Wednesday of this week before the U.N. assembly said:

".....the notion that we can control the flow of information is obsolete."

But he doesn't really believe that or he wouldn't have signed this executive order. Of course Obama not only believes he can control the flow of information but that he as President and King has a divine right to control your cellphone as well as the Internet. In an earlier post, I cited how this administration is setting the stage for the control of your energy usage with "smart meters" (Thank-you IBM and Siemens)   WHY DID PRESIDENT BYPASS CONGRESS? HE HAS NO AUTHORITY TO TAKE OVER PRIVATE WIRELESS COMPANIES OR THE INTERNET.

Rush Limbaugh behind the golden EIB mic

Question: What poses a security threat or emergency? The definition is so vague that this administration could take over the Internet or shut down certain websites like Rush Limbaugh's because they deem him to be promoting “hate speech” or contributing to Islamic unrest in the rest of the world. You’re laughing because you think this is incredulous? But, when Obama first assumed office, one of the first things he told the Republican Congress was that he and they would get along much better if they would stop listening to Rush Limbaugh. When Gabby Giffords was shot by the lunatic in Tucson, AZ., the first one blamed for the shooting was talk radio and hosts like Rush Limbaugh—never mind that the shooter never listened to talk radio and if anything, he was a crazed Demcrat.

This administration will make up any scenario they wish to justify shutting down a website or the entire internet. Remember, this is the President and the administration which for the past 2 weeks has lied to the American people about the attack in Libya where our Ambassador and 3 others were killed. He sent his U.N. Ambassador, Susan Rice, out on Sunday talk shows to say that this was NOT a terrorist attack but was the fueled by the anti-Islamic film, "Innocence of Muslims" which NOBODY has seen,

As recently as two days ago on the View talk show, Obama who stated that he was there as "eye candy" thus exalting himself as some hot celebrity was yukking it up with the dimwitted gals on the View. He was asked if this was a “terrorist attack.” Obama wouldn’t admit to it, and then said "We don't know enough at this point. We're still gathering information." He sure didn't wait to gather information before he and Hillary started dispensing the story that this rioting and unrest in Egypt, Libya and elsewhere is the result of an anti-Islamic film. How does he know that?

 

When Barry tells these uninformed libs on the View that “We don’t know enough right now", they automatically believe him. They are on "auto-pilot" and believe every word that comes out of his mouth. But Obama says this after his own administration and intelligence officials just days earlier admitted that it was a terrorist attack. Obama wants to blame a stupid movie trailer. He and Hillary are playing the role of movie critics and giving the film, “Innocence of Muslims” 2 thumbs down. Nobody has seen this movie and the president of Libya said the day after the violence that this attack on the U.S. Embassy had nothing to do with the movie, but was a terrorist attack.

IF THIS PRESIDENT WOULD LIE TO US FOR 2 WEEKS AND REFUSE TO ADMIT TO THE TRUTH, WHAT ELSE WOULD HE LIE TO US ABOUT?

If we have a President who would LIE to us for two weeks and not admit to the truth of what really happened (because he doesn’t want to answer questions about why the Libyan embassy had NO security and the deeper questions about his failed foreign policy)., then this President would LIE to us about a security threat in order to shut down our wireless communications or the Internet.

If you think I’m making too much of this, vote for Obama in November and get ready for some national emergency which IMHO will be fabricated or “created” by this administration to give them an excuse to take over your cellphone and the Internet.

On Sunday, I’ll follow up with one more threat to the Internet which is looming on the horizon. It’s a very real threat to your use of the Internet….stay tuned.

An Amicable Divorce Settlement Between Left & Right, Liberals & Conservatives

I came across this today and thought you might find it amusing as well as thought-provoking. I have added my own suggestions (in blue) as an addendum to this already well-written piece of political satire. Also, sorry about some of the formatting problems, which can only be attributed to Blogger.com which has its own issues and often drives me crazy. I'm getting closer to switching to Wordpress.

DIVORCE AGREEMENT--

WRITTEN BY YOUNG COLLEGE STUDENT

The person who wrote this is a college student. Perhaps there is hope for us after all.

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950's for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.

Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is our separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. 

• We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. 

• You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.

• You can keep the following government agencies which many of us deem fairly worthless: Dept. of Education, State Department (mostly leftist and apologists for Islam), Dept. of Homeland Security, Dept of Transportation Security (TSA). You can have all the TSA agents and let them fondle you at the airport as much as you want. You can also have the Labor Dept. which is basically a front for the unions, and sad to say, you can also have the Justice Dept. which under Obama and Holder has become the Dept. of Injustice. Also, we’ll gladly give you the Environmental Protection Agency and all their regulations which is a leftist front to destroy capitalism here in America. You can also have the Endangered Species Act which will hopefully keep you in the stone age, living with the spotted owls and endangered eagles. 
• This might shock you, but we're giving you the Pentagon which is full of a bunch of panty-waisted bureaucrat generals who care more about appeasing Islam and political correctness than about defending this nation. Since you hate the military, we'll keep all the branches of our military, even the Navy which has become a bastion for PC and social engineering. Maybe we can still turn it around. We'll start by canceling their order to bio-fuels and we'll no longer allow women to serve on submarines (pretty close, tight, intimate environment). 
• Even though this is not a branch of the military, you can have the Army Corps of Engineers which is nothing more than a group of left-wing environmentalists who care more about endangered species than they do about the economic health and well-being of this nation.

Rosie O'Donnell

• Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. 
• We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and the coal mines, and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel. 
• You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, Alec Baldwin, and best of all, you can have George Soros who has billions and won’t know what to do with it after this divorce settlement since his main goal has been the destruction of the United States. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all five of them. 

• We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.

• You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.
• We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's, rednecks and those who have entered our country legally and appreciate the opportunities afforded by our capitalist, free-enterprise system of government.
• 

  We'll keep Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Fox News and our Bibles. We’ll gladly give you NBC, MSNBC, CBS, HBO, Media Matters, Hollywood and Broadway.
• You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.
•  You can have the peaceniks, the Occupy Wall Street crowd, war protesters. 

While we’re at it, you can keep almost all the government schools (public education), most of the colleges and universities with their political correctness. We’ll keep Hillsdale College, Grove City College, and most of the Christian colleges and universities in the U.S. We’ll do just fine with home schools where our kids can truly get an education without political correctness.

• We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values and the Cross and “In God We Trust.”
• You’re welcome to keep Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley MacLaine. You can also have the U.N. and we will no longer be paying the bill.
• 
  

  We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Leaf you can find.
• You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. You also get all the trial lawyers. Who needs them anyway?
• We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.
• We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem."
• I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World".
• We'll practice trickle-down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.
• Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our European-centric history, our name and our flag. We’ll keep Christ in Christmas along with Christ in Easter, and the Jewish holidays.
• You can have your hyphenated names, your afro-centrism, the made-up holiday Kwanzaa, the Easter Bunny, Winter Solstice and Ramadan.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you might think about which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.
